Four Days And Counting

Just before the Sidecarest get together we decided to do a complete overhaul to our bedroom

This unit is 9 ft. long and a little over 5ft tall and has electric lighting in the center, of three sections. We had picked it up in a storage shed sale the original owners were military and it came from Germany.

We have two units like this the second unit has four sections. Any the backs of the units were all loose and coming off. So I decided it was time for a repair job. Disconnect them and move them into the living room so we would have to work. So while we're doing this, and since we had to empty the bedroom to get the units out. We decided to put new flooring in at the same time

We had put laminate flooring in a another room we had and we weren't to happy with it, shrinking, chipping etc. So we found this tile that is actually a type of floating floor and holds up real well. We already had it in our living room  and it looks great

Since our bedroom was trashed due to construction,we started camping out in the garage using our sleeping pads and sleeping bag.

After all we were going on this motorcycle camping trip, and one of the hardest thing I've found is once you get past your 50's getting down and sleeping on the hard ground, because you really don't do that kind of stuff any more. I noticed that during our campout with the sidecarest we were the oldest people in the campground. Doing all the work on the floor really helped a lot.

One day last week it was super hot here 73* (which is hot for Alaska) we decided to take a ride up to Hatcher Pass and on the way up there we would have dinner at a new place that I found with Dom the traveller from Colorado.

The food was great!!!

The ride to the top of the mountain had to be postponed due to a temperature change 73* at the Mad Hatchers 43* half way up plus the wind chill it was just to much.

On June 1st the Harley Davidson shop in Wasilla sponsored a Bike Blessing. The bike blessing was postponed a couple of weeks ago due to a late snowfall

They had a great turnout and any kind of blessing you can get for your motorcycle is a good thing.

Met a guy I know from the ADV rider forum that I'm on he goes by the handle AKDUC and he rides a variety of bikes Ducati, Harley, KLR, BMW

He drove out with his special set of leathers

This last week consisted of making reservations, oil changes, checking tires, and helping my honey out with gardening

  1. Interesting bones leathers.

Funny how one job leads into another when working on a house or house project. Floor looks great though.

We had coffee with Dom this morning in Corvallis. It is always nice to meet other bloggers with riding hobbies.

  2. Every project always leads to another, but I didn't realize how big the project, was going to turn out.
Those leathers are interesting when I got up close to Mark (thats his name) I noticed he had a Ducati logo was sewn into the right side.
I'm not sure he had them custom made or not

    Thank you for responding
I'll bet Dom was wondering if I was ever going to get moving on this blog
