The plan was to leave at 9:30, well no plans really go the way they were meant to be, it ended up being 11:30 before we actually left
And in honor of my friend Dom who just staying with us, I jump on the bike and only then remember that I didn't have my wallet, credit cards debit card. and I had just got through notifying my bank that I was leaving the country.
Anyway Dom had some trouble with his wallet/cards and so did I.

An awful lot of construction going on right now
Matanuska Glacier in all of it's glory
The mountains surrounding the new viewing area
great place to send your tourists
Sharon and I had a little disagreement on were the following picture should be taken there was a place on the Tok cutoff were a person could get a beautiful picture of Mt. Drum and Mt. Stanford. But I had a better idea, instead of listening to my wife, because she was right. I said we have to go up to at least mi 60 to get the better picture. The picture you seeing here is actually the north side of Mt. Blackburn the same mountain you see coming in to Glenallen
North Side of Mt Blackburn
We camped at Eagle Claw Motorcycle Campground in Tok
I contacted Vanessa the owner about reserving the TP I thought it would be a neat place to camp in. So we pulled up in front of it getting ready to set up camp, Vanessa came up to tell us that she would prefer if we didn't use it because she is having trouble drying it out. She suggested we use the bunk house instead
This area has units you can use to cook your own meals
Fire wood is available
Community area, boys and girls out house, propane stove to heat water and cooking area. Vanessa has got artisan well on her property which she supplies in the blue jugs. It tastes great
Really would have liked to try the TP out maybe on the way back home
Have a great trip! Looking forward to pictures of Southeast.
ReplyDeleteThe place where you stayed looks awesome!
ReplyDeleteNo, no, no, you are supposed to learn from Dom's mishaps and gremlin encounters, not repeat them (giggle, giggle, just kidding). Looks like a fun adventure.
ReplyDeleteKeep blogging. And we shall keep reading
The TP looks like it would be neat to stay in. They have them in Oregon as well as Yurts and covered wagons, but we haven't tried any of them out yet.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to more of your trip report.
The TP wasn't ready for people when I went through that camp....it's a neat place to camp.
ReplyDeleteNow, make your own new mistakes....the lost wallet gig is mine....
Cheers!
