We left 12-Mile Cabin at 5:00 am to make the 6:30 Hollis ferry.
I was glad to stay another night in the beautiful cedar cabin.
Deer on the road its hard to see. We saw hundreds of deer, but its hard to get pictures when we are moving and they run away. |
We saw three bears so far but unable to get their picture, but fortunately on the way to the ferry, maybe because it was early we did it, using Bob's camera we got a picture.
Good Bye Devil's Club
On the way to Hollis Ferry Bob stopped to pee and Wow look what we found, great area all Eagles. This must be where they spend the night
Parking lot at Ferry we were very early, not too many people but a bear.
How lucky we were to get these pictures. What a way to leave the island.
My last picture on Prince of Wales of a Raven. How appropriate since the Raven is my spirit animal.
Float planes are an important mode of transportation in Alaska
Here we go - back to Ketchikan on the ferry
On the ferry I ran into Arthur Martin again. This time he had a break and we talked for at least an hour or more. He grew up in Craig on POW and asked how our trip went. After telling him of the trip he said, "You have made me want to explore the island more with eyes wide open, I guess living there you take it for granted and don't realize how beautiful and magical Prince of Wales really is.
Back to rainy Ketchikan
We stayed a day in Ketchikan at the The Landing. We got to wash clothes and shower, felt good. Sharon caught up on notes for the blog and we now had wifi so loaded pictures onto blog.
