We crossed the border the weather was great the sun was shining.
From Tok to Destruction Bay the distance is 225 mi or 5hr 30min @ 40 mph.
Our trip lasted a little longer, the temperature was 40deg F, 4deg C, road construction for about 150 mi. Rough road, driving rain coming sideways.
Our trip took about 7.5 hrs,We were never so glad to see the hotel, and we got the last room, thank you Gerbings heated wear. We both have heated jackets.
The plan is to get to Haines today

Bike Race between Haines Junction YT and Haines Alaska 150 mi |
This post seemed to show up then vanish a couple of days ago. It looks like a great trip to the Ferry though the moto campground in Tok seemed pretty quiet. I know a couple of people who went on that bicycle ride. Headwinds don't sound like too much fun. Looking forward to your posts of the Pacific Coast Hwy.
ReplyDeleteRichard everything was going well. We ended up staying in Destruction Bay was going to update but added to many picture bad wifi so I put it in draft mode I'm going to try and do better on this
ReplyDeleteSaw your bike (Gespann) yesterday in Seattle at the Pike Market. Great ride you two are doing. We just do the opposite, left Connecticut two weeks ago and crossed in to British Columbia today, hoping to reach Anchorage about July 10th. Follow us on "thewolvetravels.blogspot.com" as we will follow you.
