Monday June 17, 2013, Sixth day on boat to Ketchikan

We ended trying to sleep in the solarium (an open covered area in the back of the boat)
I would suggest bringing a sleeping pad and bag.

At 3:00AM moved into the lounge area where you could sleep on floor or in a recliner.
Slept warm out of the wind.

Coming into Petersburg Alaska

Boat in dry dock Petersburg Alaska

Onwards down to Wrangell and the infamous Wrangell Narrows

On the way down to the Narrows we came across some loggers making up a floating log island that they are going to float down Prince of Wales Island they were purchased for one million dollers

Getting ready to go thru the Wrangle Narrows

The water in this area is only 25' deep

They have a crew person in the bow in constant communications with the captain

We made it thru the narrows no problem

A blue canoe going the other direction

As evening comes upon us, Sharon and I sit in the observation deck quietly absorbing the beauty of this voyage. Our thoughts are of the explorers and pioneers that travelled this same route, in early days.
What wonder we have yet to see.

We close tonight with thoughts of disembarking this boat at three in the morning.

Hard to fall asleep for fear of missing our call, both laying restlessly waiting.

Good Night !
